Don't forget that "Student of the Month" is back on again this year. All students who have trained for the whole month are eligible for this special award.
STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2011 - ARYA - GLEN WAVERLEY CLUB
Congratulations to Arya from the Glen Waverley Club on winning Student of the Year for 2011. Arya has always trained very hard since the first day she commenced in August 2009.
She continuosly trains with a big smile on her face and sets a great example to her fellow students. Arya also graded to Purple belt this year and is well on her way to gaining her black belt very soon. Well done Arya!
FIGHTER OF THE YEAR 2011 - SOPHIE - ST CATHERINE"S BERWICK CLUB
Congratulations to Sophie from the St Catherine's club in Berwick. This award was given to Sophie as a result of her performance at the annual Caydam Tournament this year in October. Although Sophie did not earn a winning place at the tournament, she showed tremendous courage taking on some bigger opponents and scoring high points in each bout. To be eligible for this award, students must compete at the Caydam Tournament. During their bouts every point scored is added and tallied at the end. The competitor who scores the most points is awarded "Fighter of the Year". Sophie managed to score an all time high of 52 points, 5 more than last year's winner Joshua, also from the St. Catherine's Club. Great effort Sophie!
